We offer individual short-term counseling and prevention services to all NHTI students. Counseling services are provided by licensed mental health professionals, and we’re sensitive to issues of race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, ability, culture, and learning differences. Counseling sessions are confidential and not part of the academic record.

For longer term services, referrals are made to local mental health professionals. Crisis intervention services are offered during open hours. After-hours crisis coverage is coordinated with community mental health services. We provide the following services:

  • Individual counseling
  • Alcohol and drug information and preventative counseling
  • Consultation to students, staff, and faculty
  • Crisis intervention
  • Resource and referral services
  • Sexual and relationship violence prevention

Appointments

Almost all counseling services are done by appointment. Cancellations should be made as early as possible so that the vacated time may be made available to another person. To make an appointment, call 603-230-4043.
