Concord, NH – The NHTI Softball team split its fall season finale against Central Maine CC on Saturday winning game one by a final of 10-2 and falling in game two 4-1. In game one Taylor Gagnon (Goffstown, NH) got the start going the full five innings giving up two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six. Ariel Switser (West Burke, Vt.) led the offense going two-for-three with a homerun, two runs scored and two RBIs. Cassidy Lavigne (Manchester, NH) added a two-for-three day with three RBIs, while Gagnon contributed a two-for-two performance with three runs scored and a RBI. In game two Ca. Lavigne picked up the loss for the Lynx pitching six innings giving up four runs, three earned on six hits and one walk while striking out 10. Gagnon came in for the final inning pitching a clean inning with a punch-out. For the offense the bats were silenced only collecting three hits. Hannah Winship (Rochester, NH) wemt two-for-three, while Cooper Lavigne (Manchester, NH) went one-for-three.
Auburn, ME - In game one the Lynx offense exploded leading to a 11-3 victory over Central Maine CC. NHTI jumped on top 4-0 in the third before the Mustangs came back with two runs in the bottom half of the third. The Lynx offense erupted for two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth to take a 7-2 lead and secure the victory by a final of 11-3. Ariel Switser (West Burke, Vt.) went 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs while Jordan Sargent (Belmont, N.H.) went 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Taylor Gagnon (Goffstown, N.H.) picked up the win in the circle pitching the complete game giving up three runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out five. In game two the Mustangs bats came alive late as Central Maine defeated NHTI 8-2. Cassidy Lavigne (Manchester, N.H.) picked up the loss pitching four innings giving up four runs on two hits and three walks while striking out five. Gagnon came in relief pitching two innings giving up four runs on five hits while striking out a pair. Olivia Langevin (Epsom, N.H.) went 1-for-4 in game two with a run scored.
