STARTERS is a two day (overnight) leadership training program held on the NHTI campus.  It’s a collaboration between the Student Leadership Program and the Athletic Department to provide academic and leadership skills to individuals planning to be a student-athlete at NHTI.

Who?

Any incoming, full-time (12 credits) student-athlete participating on the following teams:

When?

Monday, August 18—Tuesday, August 19, 2014
Check in at 10:30-11:00 am on Monday.
Check out is at 4:15 pm on Tuesday.

What is the Cost?

There is no cost! NHTI is 100% invested in  student athletes’ success.  This two day program is here to develop a new connection with students and their college experience.

Day One-Monday, August 18, 2014
8:30-10:00 am NHTI Fall Team practice (if needed)*
10:00-11:00 am Shower/Change for the day
10:30-11:00 am Attendees with no morning practice check in at Residence Hall
11:00-11:30 am Attendees with morning practice check in at Residence Hall
11:30 am Welcome, Intros, & Overview (Sweeney Auditorium)
11:45-12:30 pm Lunch (Capital Commons)
12:45-4:15 pm Core Trainings
4:30-5:30 pm Academic Workshop (Grappone 106)
5:45-6:30 pm Pizza & Residence Life Info (South Hall)
6:45-10:30 pm Planned Activities and FREE time
10:30 pm Quiet Hours (Residence Hall)
 
Day Two-Tuesday, August 19, 2014
8:00-9:15 am Breakfast with the "Big Cats" (Capital Commons)
9:30 am-12:30 pm Core Trainings
12:45-1:15 pm Lunch (Capital Commons)
1:15-2:00 pm College Finances (Grappone 106)
2:00-3:30 pm Core Trainings Concluding Exercises
3:00-4:00 pm Closing Ceremony (Sweeney Auditorium and Quad)
4:15 pm Check out (Residence Hall)

* Team practices are scheduled in the evening following the conclusion of the program.
