NHTI Athletics Hall of Fame

Nomination Criteria

Purpose

The NHTI Athletics Hall of Fame was founded to honor those individuals who have shown leadership, sportsmanship, commitment and achievement during their time here as an athlete, coach, or supporter of NHTI teams and our rich NHTI athletic tradition. 

Induction of Athletes

  1. There must be a five year time lapse since the candidate last participated in athletics and attendance from college at NHTI or New Hampshire Technical Institute.
  2. The candidate must have attended NHTI for a minimum of two or more semesters with preference towards NHTI graduates.
  3. Achievements in athletics is of high importance, outstanding educational success and community involvement will be factors in making the selection.
  4. The candidate must have a significant impact in their sport or sports along with good character and reputation.
  5. The candidate must have represented NHTI in a positive fashion as an undergraduate and as an alumnus.
  6. An honoree may be inducted posthumously.

Induction of Teams

  1. A minimum of five years must lapse between the induction of NHTI teams.
  2. Must have note-worthy season accomplishments.

Induction of Coaches

  1. There must be a three year lapse after active coaching to be eligible.
  2. A minimum of three years of service to the department.
  3. The candidate must have a significant impact in their sport or sports along with good character and reputation.
  4. The candidate must have made a strong impact on players and the NHTI community.
  5. The nominee shall have demonstrated an ability to enhance the athletic experience of the student-athlete, while serving as a positive role model through exemplary leadership and character.
  6. An honoree may be inducted posthumously.

Induction of Other Individuals

  1. This candidate does not need to be a graduate of NHTI.
  2. The candidate must have made a significant impact on the NHTI athletic programs.
  3. This respected candidate must bring favor to the NHTI Community by achieving success, having good character and outstanding citizen to the community.
  4. The nominee shall have demonstrated an ability to enhance the athletic experience of the student-athlete, while serving as a positive role model through exemplary leadership and character.
  5. An honoree may be inducted posthumously.

Committee Members: Seven members

  • Director of Athletics--Chairperson
  • Director of Wellness and Recreation
  • Public Relations Representative
  • Alumni Member (non-athlete or athlete)
  • 2 Faculty or Staff Members
  • Current NHTI Coach

Process

  • Nomination forms will be available year round for nominations on the NHTI Athletic page.
  • Selection process by the Committee Members will occur every June. Nominees for induction will be contacted in late June about their selection to the NHTI Hall of Fame.
  • Hall of Fame induction ceremonies will be held at a designated date and time in September every year.
  • Hall of Fame induction shall have a minimum of three inductees and a maximum of ten inductees per year with possible exceptions for extenuating circumstances.
  • 2019 nominations are due no later than June 15, 2019

Ceremony

  • NHTI Lynx Booster Club would be the primary supporter of the event and the awards.
  • NHTI Lynx Booster Club will provide the after awards food/beverage.
  • Hall of Fame Inductees would receive a plaque as part of the ceremony.
  • The ceremony would be open to the public.

Any nominees not voted for induction into the Hall of Fame during the year of her/his nomination will remain in consideration for two (2) additional years following their nomination.  After that time period, the candidate must be re-nominated for consideration
