As an NHTI student, you no doubt face many pressures as you attempt to juggle multiple responsibilities and find a healthy balance between school, work, and life.  Additional stressors such as relationship concerns, issues with peers, struggles with anxiety or depression, financial strain, or substance abuse can feel overwhelming at times.

NHTI believes in providing resources, tools, and supports to help you navigate your time on campus. Our goal is to prepare our students to effectively manage personal and school concerns before academic performance and overall wellbeing is adversely impacted.

From time to time, everyone experiences situations that affect their general wellbeing. In addition to our in-person counseling services, NHTI offers students access to a Student Assistance Program (SAP) provided by Kepro. NHTI students have access to free confidential student counseling services (SCS) by licensed mental health professionals in the local area and other supports 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Kepro’s services are confidential. You are provided with up to 6 counseling sessions per incident per year at no cost.

Additionally, SAP provides you with online and mobile access to information, resources, and referrals to enhance student’s life and personal wellbeing. The program provides information and resources on personal growth, emotional wellness, parenting, managing change, self-assessments, online training modules, and financial calculators. You can also access free confidential legal and financial consultations.

The SAP follows all federal regulations regarding confidentiality and privacy. Kepro does not release any information about participants to anyone without written permission unless the participant is in danger of self-harming or harming someone else, if they suspect child or elder abuse, or as required by law.

The SAP is a resource to help you be successful at meeting your responsibilities and creating solutions that allow you to be healthier, happier, and more productive. The SAP is a comprehensive resource for students and their family.
