NHTI’s women's soccer team has become one of the nation's perennial national powers among two-year colleges, competing regionally and nationally in the US Collegiate Athletic Association. Building on their success each year in the Yankee Small College Conference, the Lynx have set the USCAA National Championship as their goal.
In 2014 the Lynx went undefeated in their conference and were named the YSCC Champions and are looking to build off of this in 2015.
In 2014 Sahara Brown (Barnstead, NH) was named an USCAA All-American and YSCC Player of the Year (West), Emily Blad (Northwood, NH) and Alexis Duclos, (Epsom) were named USCAA All-Americans. Carissa Pelletier (New Canada, ME) was a selection to the YSCC All-Conference team.
The second year coaching team of Head Coach Heidi Crockett and Assistant Coach Mariah Payne look to take their program to an even higher level this year by working harder on development and TEAM. Their philosophy of “playing for the love of the game” has brought them a lot of success in the past and they plan to continue on with this ideal at NHTI.
Coach Crockett and Coach Payne, having both played sports at the collegiate level, understand the demands of the classroom and the soccer pitch. Their “ultimate goal” is to give their athletes the confidence to be successful in the classroom as well as on the pitch.
