NHTI’s women's soccer team has become one of the nation's perennial powers among two-year colleges, competing regionally and nationally in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).
In 2016 the Lynx went undefeated in conference play for the third year in a row and won the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) Championship Tournament. In addition, they were awarded the #7 seed for the USCAA National Tournament in Virginia Beach where they were the only two-year college on the women’s side of the tournament.
The Lynx once again had the YSCC Player of the Year as Shannon Hart (Swanzey, N.H.) repeated as well as three YSCC All Conference Players: Shannon Hart, Danielle Wiley (Penacook, N.H.) and Savanah Bastis (Laconia, N.H.). The awards continued to come as we were one of the few teams in the USCAA to have 4 All Americans: Shannon Hart, Alexis Duclos (Epsom, N.H.), Stefani Gauthier (Pittsfield, N.H.) and Danielle Wiley. Shannon Hart and Danielle Wiley also won the USCAA All Academic Award, awarded to student athletes that are at least sophomores and attain a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Head Coach Heidi Crockett enters her fourth season at the helm and second year Assistant Coach Molly Todd look to take their program to an even higher level this year by working harder on development and TEAM. Their philosophy of “playing for the love of the game” has brought them a lot of success in the past and they continue on with this ideal at NHTI.
Coach Crockett and Coach Todd, having both played sports at the collegiate level, understand the demands of the classroom and the soccer pitch. Their “ultimate goal” is to give their athletes the confidence to be successful in the classroom as well as on the pitch.
