NHTI’s women's soccer team has become one of the nation's perennial national powers among two-year colleges, competing regionally and then nationally in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) and the regional level (YSCC). Our Lynx will continue to be a strong program challenging for the Yankee Small College Conference top honors and to build towards a USCAA National Championship contention.
Receiving honors in 2013 were Sahara Brown (Barnstead, NH) as she was named USCAA All-American, YSCC Player of the Year (West) and All-Conference team selection; Carissa Pelletier (New Canada, ME), USCAA Second Team All-American and YSCC All-Conference team selection; and, Cassie Lacroix (Candia, NH), USCAA Honorable Mention All-American and YSCC All-Conference team selection. Receiving All-Academic National Team honors were Megan Smith (Merrimack, NH) and Kendra Strong (Concord, NH).
The first year coaching team of Head Coach Heidi Crockett and Assistant Coach Mariah Payne will continue to build on the foundation that longtime head Coach Steve Ambra developed so successfully from the program’s inception in 2000. NHTI coaches share the “playing for the love of the game” which will continue as our NHTI women’s soccer program which is recognized beyond the borders of New England continues to challenge for top honors regionally as well as nationally.
Coach Crockett and Coach Payne are experienced coaches and former athletes with many years of experience. Their “ultimate goal” is to give their athletes the confidence to be successful in the classroom as well as on the pitch.
