Eric Benn is the Assistant Director of Residence Life and also the Residence Hall Director for Strout Hall. He has been working at NHTI since the fall of 2013 and has slowly integrated himself into the campus community, getting involved in many aspects of the institution. Eric hails from Rhode Island, and graduated from Plymouth State University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, focusing on Film & Media Studies. Eric is now in pursuit of his Master’s Degree through Southern New Hampshire University, studying in Organizational Leadership.
Outside of work, Eric is currently serving as President of RLAGS (Residence Life Association of the Granite State), an organization that focuses on paraprofessional development for all student housing staff in New Hampshire. He works on the NHTI Annual Whiffle Ball committee as co-chair and continues to collaborate with Student Life on programming and initiatives that will benefit not only the residential community, but the entire campus.
In his spare time, Eric enjoys spending quality time with his partner Joe and their two pets, Rumple the cat and Sadie, a border collie-husky mix dog.
Hi Everyone! My name is Kayla Barnes and I am currently enrolled in the General Studies Program with the goal of later going on into the Radiology Program here at NHTI. I grew up in the small town of Wilton, New Hampshire; it’s right next to Milford if any of you know where that is. It will be my first year as an RA here and my second as a student. I am Co-President of the Campus Activities Board with the lovely Emily Chick (my floor mate), and this will also be my second year on the NHTI volleyball team. In my spare time I love going to the beach, kayaking, hiking, or camping; I get a bit stir crazy if I am inside for too long. Around campus you can find me in the gym or around Strout watching a movie. I am easy to talk to and would love to get to know you, as well as help you out with anything you need. If you need to find me I’ll be in room 307!
Aloha Everyone! My name is Colby Chaput and this is going to be my first semester as a resident assistant. I was born and raised in Swanzey, NH (right outside of Keene). I am an outgoing, fun guy and I am looking forward to meeting new residents and seeing all the returners. I currently study Criminal Justice and want to go on to be a parole officer one day. Fall is my favorite season. I love to play any sort of sport especially basketball, soccer, and golf. Hiking, being generally adventurous, mountain biking, spelunking, and finding a great swimming-hole are my true passions though. In my free time I play video games occasionally and love to just hang out. Anytime you want to stop in and hang out or just talk you can always find me around in the rec lounge or in my room, located in 207!
