Last weekend, NHTI Cross Country coach Perry Seagroves traveled to the Sunshine State to escape the cold, and also to compete in the 2014 Naples Daily News Half Marathon on Sunday January 19. The unconquerable Seagroves was a winner, taking the Male Senior Grand Master prize with a time of 44:28.7, a full minute and a half faster than his nearest competitor.
This victory actually earned him a cash reward: $300! Cash prizes are a rarity in cross country competition, according to Seagroves, especially in the senior categories. "Old guys never get money!"
If you would like to learn to run, and maybe even win some money, join the NHTI Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams. Everyone is welcome. Contact Perry at firstname.lastname@example.org.
