Shaunna Babcock, Director
I graduated from Plymouth State University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood studies, and Southern NH University with a M.Ed in Child Development Administration. I have been working in the field of early childhood for more than 10 years, and I believe that all of my experiences have led me to this role at the Child and Family Development Center. I was trained at the Child Development & Family Center, a lab school at Plymouth State University, and truly value the opportunity this setting provides to train the next generation of educators in best practice.
My passion is leadership. I enjoy every aspect of my role as an administrator, and am truly impressed each day by the work of our wonderful staff, and the level of involvement from our families. This makes the CFDC a truly unique and wonderful place to come each day combining insight from so many to create the vision for our program.
When I am not at the CFDC or teaching adjunct faculty here at NHTI, I enjoy spending time with my husband Matt, and our yellow lab Abby. We enjoy being with friends and family, the great outdoors, and spending time working on projects around our home.
Lori Warner, Assistant Director & Curriculum Coordinator
I have worked for the CFDC since the day we opened back in 2001 progressing from assistant teacher in the preschool classroom, to lead teacher in the preschool classroom, to my current roles of assistant director and curriculum coordinator. I graduated from NHTI in 1999 with an associate’s degree in early childhood education, Phi Theta Kappa, and received the President’s Award for Excellence. Currently, I take coursework each semester as I work toward a bachelor’s degree in ECE through Granite State College.
My passion is facilitating children’s learning, ages 0 through 5, through experiential education. My classroom goals are to co-inquire and reflect with the teachers about their observations of children in their play; to help them create meaningful and relevant experiences for children that are integrated, on-going and evolving; to model for and support teachers in making children’s learning visible. Coaching and mentoring college students is an awesome responsibility and one that potentially affects countless children and families. I feel honored to be a part of this inspiring community.
At home, I am the office manager for my husband’s small and local business of 26 years, Warner Construction Company. Although we are empty-nesters, my husband and I enjoy cruising on our Harley, gardening, and spending lots of time with our close-knit and ever-growing family.
Cameron Hamel, Program Assistant
I earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from New England College with a minor in education. After working for the Concord Monitor for eight years and with Including Samuel, I found my home at the Child and Family Development Center in 2009.
My favorite part of each day is getting to greet the families, children and staff. I like compiling the newsletter, helping out in classrooms, getting lost in paperwork and organizing everything.
I enjoy spending time with my family which includes my 10-year old son, Patrick, and my husband, Carl; as well as my two black cats, Goblin and Beastie. I love gardening, spending time outside with my son, and my summers at Newfound Lake with family.
