The process begins with writing an artist statement that defines their creative goals and direction. Over the course of the semester\, students meet regularly with their mentors for feedback and guidance\, while independently shaping their projects. The result is a professional exhibition that highlights each artist’s individual vision\, voice\, and growth. \nThe opening reception is Friday\, December 5 from 5-7 p.m. in the Bistro. \nThe exhibit will be on display in the Bistro December 1-6. \nThe exhibit will be on display in the Library December 12-31.

DESCRIPTION:We present a tribute to Robert Redford–actor\, producer\, Oscar-winning director and founder of the Sundance Film Festival (and Institute). With so many memorable films to choose from\, a representative choice was difficult to make. We decided on THE STING (1973)—in which Redford marvelously plays a Depression-era grifter who instigates an elaborate con to avenge a friend’s death. He received his only “Best Actor” Oscar nomination for this performance as Johnny Hooker. But he\, along with Brando\, Nicholson and Pacino lost to Jack Lemmon that year!
