Red Cross Shelter Training
Friday September 25
11 am - 4 pm
Have you ever wondered how you can help during a disaster?
Every year Volunteer NH and the American Red Cross NH and VT Region respond to various types of disaster related events in which volunteers are needed.
Volunteer NH in partnership with the American Red Cross NH & Vermont Region and NHTI are offering a Shelter Fundamentals Training & Exercise. This training is open to staff, faculty and students of NHTI and will include NH AmeriCorps members and staff. There is no charge to attend and lunch will be provided.
Shelter Fundamentals is a basic level course that introduces the guidelines and procedures for setting up, running and closing a shelter during a disaster. Referencing shelter checklists, participants will work on a case study that takes them through four phases of the sheltering cycle and participate in an exercise that allows participants to practice the knowledge they gained.
Register by calling 271-7201 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include your name, phone number, email and if you’re a NHTI student, staff or faculty member. Registration deadline is September 16.
