Skrungloo Farm Scholarship

Skrungloo Farm Inc., a NH Non-Profit Charitable Foundation, is seeking applicants for its 2016 Scholarship Awards.  Applicants must demonstrate financial need, academic merit, and other non-academic factors such as community service, school activities and work experience.  Applications are due on March 1, 2016.  For more information and a scholarship application visit www.skrungloofarm.org or contact Kristine Pries at (603) 225-7170 or skrungloofarm@biancopa.com.

New Hampshire Water Pollution Control ​Association Student Scholarship

The NHWPCA will award a $1000 scholarship to a student enrolled in a New Hampshire college who meets the following eligibility requirements:

  • The applicant must be a resident of New Hampshire.
  • Be enrolled in a New Hampshire college.
  • Applicant must provide verification of enrollment to the institution with a major in Water Pollution Control, Environmental Science, Engineering or Chemistry.  Priority will be given to vocational students who are preparing for a field directly related to the water environment.
  • Priority shall be given to NHWPCA members and of immediate family of members who have been in good standing for a period of one year prior to application date.

Marshall Snyder Scholarship

Marshall Snyder taught chemistry, materials science, and physics at NHTI from 1965 to 1984.  He died in 1985.  It was the wish of the family to honor the type of student that Marshall enjoyed the most- a student who performed well in the laboratory portion of the course.  There will be four scholarships presented during Awards Day on April 12.  The scholarships must be used for tuition at NHTI during the Fall Semester 2016.

This scholarship is open to any NHTI student who meets the following criteria:

  •  Has taken a physical science class (with lab) at NHTI that is not an introductory class.  Physical science classes include chemistry and physics classes.  Intro to Chemistry (CH100) and Pre-Engineering Physics (PH100) do not count.
  • Maintains a minimum GPA of 2.5

Applicants will be evaluated according to the following in each course.

                        60% - Lab Grade
                        30% - Course Grade
                        10% - Professional Evaluation by Course Instructor

Peter J. Kavalauskas Memorial Scholarship

The Peter J. Kavalauskas Memorial Scholarship is a $5,000 award. (The recipient of this award is not eligible for receipt of the Bart M. DallaMura Memorial Scholarship, The Roger G. Marois Memorial Scholarship, or a Northeast Credit Union general scholarship.)

Eligibility

The applicant must be a member in good standing of Northeast Credit Union who meets all of the following criteria:

  1. The applicant must be a current high school student who will be attending a 2 year accredited community college next year.
  2. The applicant must be in the top 50% of his/her high school class.
  3. The applicant must have been a member in good standing of Northeast Credit Union for at least one year prior to the date of application.

Application Process

To apply, eligible members must complete the scholarship application form.  Applications available in the NHTI Financial Aid Office.  The application, transcripts and essay must be submitted/postmarked by March 14, 2016 to:

Hollis Women's Club Alternative Scholarship

This scholarship is available to one woman (must be a New Hampshire resident) who is working toward completing a program or degree that will help her learn a new skill, or return to or advance in a job.  One scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00 will be awarded and will be paid to the educational agency where the student is enrolled.

The deadline for the Hollis Woman’s Club Alternative Scholarship is April 1, 2016.  Scholarship applicants will be notified by May 6, 2016 regarding the status of the application.

NEW! NH Electric Co-op Foundation Scholarship

The NH Electric Co-op Foundation will be offering six $1500 scholarships, one of which is reserved for a student attending a vocational/technical institution.  Applicant must be a member of the Co-op, or be residing with a parent or legal guardian who is a member.  Applications may be obtained by calling the Co-op offices at 1-800-698-207 or by visiting www.nhec.com/community_foundation_scholarships.php.

College Equals Opportunity (CEO) Scholarship

The NHHEAF Network Organizations' College Equals Opportunity (CEO) Scholarship Program provides significant scholarship dollars to deserving college students who demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities, academic talent and financial need. Since inception, $320,000 has been awarded in scholarship to college students from New Hampshire.

The program recognizes current college sophomores and juniors with $2,500 scholarships. Since its inception in 2005, the CEO Scholarship Program has awarded $320,000 to deserving NH college students.

Concord Hospita​l Trust Scholarship for Nursing & Allied Health Students

When you apply for and are awarded a scholarship from our scholarship fund you receive philanthropic dollars to support your pursuit of a career in the nursing or allied healthcare professions.  Multiple scholarships are available to deserving students pursuing careers primarily in nursing and, on a limited basis, to students pursuing careers in various qualifying fields of allied health care.  Scholarship awards typically range from $1,000 - $3,000.  Award recipients are notified by mid June.  Applications must be submitted and received no later than April 29, 2016.   Apply online at https://giveto.concordhospital.org/stewardship/scholarship-fund-application.

NEW! National Association of Women in Construction Scholarship

The Granite State Chapter #218 of the National Association of Women in Construction will be accepting applications for our annual scholarship of $1000.  Requirements for this scholarship are as follows:

  • NH resident entering final year of program in a 2-yr school
  • GPA of C or better, with Official Transcript
  • Majoring in a construction related field, i.e. engineering, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or general construction, etc.
  • An essay of approximately 150 words stating why student has chosen the construction industry for their career.  (No other application form is required.)

Application should be postmarked no later than May 1, 2016 in order to be considered.  Notification of award will be made by June 1, 2016.  Applications should be mailed to:

Alice M. Yarnold and Samuel Yarnold Scholarship

The Alice M. Yarnold and Samuel Yarnold Scholarship Trust offers $1000 - $5000 per year in scholarships for students interested in nursing, medicine, social work or other related areas of post-secondary education.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be New Hampshire residents who are already in the process of post-secondary education.
  • Individuals must demonstrate financial need and scholastic excellence.

Applications must be submitted by May 19, 2016.  Applications are available in the NHTI Financial Aid Office.
 

Senior Homes Caregiver Scholarship

Two students who are in good academic standing and attending a U.S. college or university will each receive a $1,000 scholarship from SeniorHomes.com for use in paying tuition and/or books.

Complete and submit the application form by 11:59 p.m. PDT on June 30, 2016.  Judging will be based on the following criteria, that include, but are not limited to:

  • Submission quality (inspiring, extraordinary, or otherwise compelling);
  • Impact the scholarship will make on the life of the student and the person they care for;
  • Whether the applicant has addressed the application questions and satisfied the application guidelines.

Announcement of the winners will be made by August 1, 2016.  Apply at www.seniorhomes.com/scholarship.
