Lynx Place Second in NHTI Volleyball Invitational
The CCRI Knights rolled through the competition at the NHTI Volleyball Invitational on Saturday September 26. The Knights did not lose a set on their way to the win, toping all six teams with a 2-0 score in each match.
NHTI placed second in the tournament, only losing a pair of matches to the Knights. In early rounds. the Lynx defeated Bunker Hill 2-0 and St. Joseph's 3-0. The semi-finals saw NHTI top Paul Smith’s 2-0.
The Lynx fell in the finals to the Knights, 2-0, losing the first set 25-18 and the second 25-23. NHTI rallied late in the second set to draw within a pair at 22-23 before the Knights scored the winning pair.
NHTI’s Katie Steeves (pictured above) was among several players to receive an All-Tournament Award for their outstanding play during the competition.

Three members of NHTI athletics teams earned Player of the Week awards in Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) competition last week.
Alec Cassidy (Lancaster, NH) earned Player of the Week honors in golf when he finished fifth overall in last week’s National Qualifier at U-Maine Augusta, posting a score of 87 to help NHTI to a second place finish. The freshman is currently ranked fourth in the YSCC, with an average of 86 through his first three rounds.
Danyel McNicholas (Raymond, NH) picked up the softball award after the freshman went 2-3 in a pair of wins for the Lynx, scoring four runs, knocking in one, and swiping three bases last week. Danyel has been solid defensively behind the plate and at shortstop, not committing an error all fall.
Claire Bilik (Milford, NH) finished 46th with a time of 23:47 in a 5k race at the 44th annual Pop Crowell Invitational Saturday morning at Gordon College. Bilik finished second for the NHTI runners, helping the women’s cross country team earn a 10th place finish.
