We will offer another NHTI Students Workshop session during the summer – time to be determined.  Call us at 271-6484 x4414 or e-mail us to be put on a waiting list if interested.

19th Annual Wellness Fair

Tuesday April 1
11 am - 2 pm
Wellness Center Gym

Wellness Fair logoIn keeping with the date, the theme of this year’s fair is “Don’t Be a Fool About Your Health.”  Around 50 student and community participants will be on hand with demonstrations, health screenings, wellness education, exhibits and more.  Additionally, there will be free healthy refreshments, door prizes and background music.  Admission is free and the community is invited.

For the first time, this year’s fair incorporates a Bone Marrow Drive.  Fair-goers ages 18-44 are being encouraged to “get swabbed for Sarah,” a young mother with two children who is in need of a bone marrow transplant – and who happens to be the daughter of longtime (1990-2013) Learning Center Director Debbie Carley

There will also be a Red Cross Blood Drive held from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Multi-purpose Room (room 102) in the adjacent Student Center.

For more information contact Janet Turgeon, 271-6484 x 4330

March Madness at the Library!

The NHTI Library is hosting and inviting the college community in to pick March Madness brackets; not for basketball teams - à la the NCAA - but for books!  There will be several rounds as books go “head-to-head” for the championship: which book (or series) will win?  As each round is completed, round winners will be announced and new forms will be released - the winners will advance until we get to the championship match-up!

It's coming down to the Classics vs. the New Wave, so cast your ballot and help determine the final outcome!  Vote online on the Library Home Page, or by paper ballot at the Library's Service Desk.

Round 3 - Semi-finals!

The Harry Potter Series (J.K. Rowling)

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (J.R.R. Tolkien)

The Hunger Games (Susan Collins)

The Chronicles of Narnia (C.S. Lewis)
