Wheelchair Benefit Nets Over $2000

Thanks to all for a great Wheelchair Basketball Benefit, our 13th annual event.  We appreciate all the sponsors, donors, players, volunteers, referees, announcers, attendees, and patrons of the Silent Auction ... and our fans!

Our silent auction, 50/50 raffle, admissions and donations raised $1,200.  The Student Senate voted to match up to $1,000, for a total of $2,200.  The proceeds will be used for the Zech DeVits Memorial Equipment Fund for the assistive technology needs of NHTI students with disabilities.  Some of the top winning bids for Silent Auction items were the Green Boston Red Sox Jersey ($45), the Tasha B. Frostbeary Boyd’s Bear ($50), the Oral-B Braun Precision 5000 Power Toothbrush ($45), the Gift Bowl from the Human Service Club ($45), and the twin size handmade quilt ($100).  Winners have been notified.

Thanks to our announcer John Dennis and Referees Eli Kendrick, Richard Shout and  Jordan Lates.  We were absolutely dazzled by the NHTI Dance Team thanks to Coach Shameca Brown and dancers extraordinaire Sincere Thomas, David Tumani, Alexis Brown, Reshma, Claufy and Princess.

New in the Library Gallery

Linda M. Johnson started her artisitc career in the 1960's as a painter of oils and watercolors.  After many years of painting she took up sculpture, and spent 30 years as a juried artist with the League of NH Craftsmen making one-of-a-kind lamps and other artworks.  Now retired, she has found a new outlet as a wildlife photographer.  The Library Gallery is pleased to present a selection of images of the birds of Webster Lake.
