Team Moffett Wins Spring Golf Tourney
The NHTI 29th Annual Spring faculty, staff, student golf tournament was another fantastic outing! There were 10 teams of four that participated for a total of 40 people at Concord’s Beaver Meadow Golf course.
The 9-hole best ball scramble “crowned champions” were led by the “infamous Mike Moffett”. The winning team of Mike Moffett, Carl Hilliker, Marty Schmitt and Ben Sytulek came in with a two under score.

Right behind them in second place was the “Presidential Brigade” of Alan Blake, Susan Dunton, Jim Tanner and Jarrett Matson shooting one under. Kerry Cook (left) doubled up on her winnings by capturing the longest drive and closest to the pin for all females playing.
Spencer Coronis (right) also doubled his winnings taking the longest drive and closest to the pin for the males. Raffle prizes went to Sarah Hebert from “Team Library”, Simon Keeling, Marty Schmitt and Chuck Lloyd.
There were many retired faculty who also came back for the day to enjoy the game of golf and socialize with the NHTI community. Retired Deputy Chancellor Chuck Annal also graced us with his presence as a “pinch hitter” for VP Steve Caccia. Great to see Chuck! Always a good crowd of faculty, staff and students to make it fun!
Thank you to Beaver Meadow Golf Course for hosting this event, Danny Wiliams and Amber Thibault from the Wellness Center for helping out and taking some great photos, and to all participants! Looking forward to the Fall golf tournament which will be on October 7, 2016.
The Kids Take Wing
The kindergartners from NHTI's Child & Family Development Center got a visit from some really big birds last month ... and we're not talking Sesame Street! The kids held a bake sale to raise funds to bring in a speaker from the New Hampshire Audubon Society, who brought along some really cool raptors -- that's owls and hawks, to the rest of us!
"My, what big feet you have!"
Kevin Wall from NH Audubon shows the kindergartners a pair of owl claws.
Retired Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel and NHTI Sports Management Professor Mike Moffett was a panelist at a Business Leadership Conference in Salem on May 11, hosted by Methuen Construction Company. Other panelists included former NH Supreme Court Chief Justice John Broderick and Red Sox legend Rico Petrocelli.
Rico autographed several baseballs, to be delivered to the NHTI Athletics Department, and Moffett signed a copy of his book Fahim Speaks: A Warrior-Actor's Odyssey from Afghanistan to Hollywood and Back, for Rico.
