The results for the NHTI Math Team’s 2013-14 Student Math League (SML) season are in!
In the first round, the team placed 5th in the Northeast Region (out of 18 teams), with a team score of 79 points. Top scorers for the meet were: Garrett Bryant (20.5 points), Aaron Ashbaugh (15.5 points) and Garrett Longtin (13 points). Garrett Bryant’s 20.5 points placed him first in the Northeast Region out of 175 students, and Aaron’s 15.5 points placed him 11th. Dan Morel, Richey Bittle, Patrick Shields, Nick Arsenault and Christian Rainey also competed
The team found the second round to be a bit more difficult. The team tied for 11th place in the region with a score of 60.5. Top scorers for the second meet were: Christian Rainey (17 points), Garrett Bryant (14.5 points), Garrett Longtin (11 points), and John Curl-Larson (10.5 points). Dan Morel and Richey Bittle also competed.
Combined with the results of the first meet, NHTI’s Math Team placed 10th in region for the year. With a combined score of 35 points, Garrett Bryant set a new individual points record for NHTI, placing 8th overall in the region. As the top scorer of the year, he was awarded a check for $100 from the New England Mathematical Association of Two Year Colleges.
