Congratulations to NHTI's Child & Family Development Center (CFDC) for again achieving NAEYC (National Organization for the Education of Young Children) accreditation for another 5-year term! The CFDC is one of only 56 accredited programs in the state of NH out of approximately 1200 licensed programs. CFDC passed this rigorous assessment with a rating of 97%.
In other CFDC news, Fungo, the Fisher Cat mascot, paid a visit to the facility on Friday Feb 13 to entertain the children and deliver a Valentines Day greeting to Miss Katie, lead teacher in the preschool program. We think somebody likes you, Miss K. (But trim your whiskers, Fungo!)

Landscape Scholarship Winners
Landscape and Environmental Design majors Noah Chidester of Washington, NH (left) and Michael Shawver of Nelson, NH (below right), have each received $1,500 scholarships from the Ruth & Leon Pearson Memorial Scholarship Fund, administered the New Hampshire Landscape Association.
The fund was established by Ruth Pearson in 1993 in memory of her husband Leon, "one of the fathers of landscaping in New Hampshire." Originally limited to landscaping students attending the Thompson School at UNH or the Stockbridge School at U-Mass, the trustees only recently expanded their criteria to include students from NHTI.
