The Many Faces of Ruth
NHTI gathered in the Library's "Green Room" on Tuesday January 13 to celebrate Ruth Heath's sixteen years of service to the college, and to wish her well on the eve of her retirement. Of course, like so many of NHTI's retirees, Ruth is not leaving us completely. For the moment she'll be teaching a few classes as an adjunct, tutoring in the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE), and continuing as advisor of her beloved Environmental Action Club. (With a little luck, we may not even notice she's left!)
Ruth writes, "From my first day at NHTI ... I knew this was the spot for me. It has been a wonderful experience to be united in purpose with the whole campus community as we offer opportunity and hope to students and watch them grow and bloom. I have enjoyed sharing every day of this fulfilling work with you all. I feel very rich in memories and treasure the friendships made here. Thank you!"
Visual Arts major Jon Clemens (Pembroke) performed a Fire Dance at the Opening Reception of the Senior Capstone and Student Exhibition in December under his stage name, Johnny Blaze! Now that's performance art!
This spring, NHTI, Concord’s Community College will offer a series of 4-week art classes in partnership with GoodLife Programs and Activities. The cost for each intensive, hands-on class is only $100, plus materials. Topics and schedule are as follows:
