With the help of the grounds department, the Cross Country team, Student Senate, and other volunteers, a new walking/running trail has been established in the woods behind North Hall. Called the Lynx Trail, this beautiful new trail will add additional walking, running, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing opportunities to our already existing trails.
The new trail can be accessed at the upper left corner of the “D” parking lot, near the road that leads behind North. It is approximately a 1 mile loop, currently marked with orange blazes, that takes you over a stream bed via a small bridge, brings you to the Merrimack River, follows the river bank to I-93, and returns back to the bridge and the start of the trail.
Many of the Student Senators and Cross Country team members met at 12:45 on Tuesday Nov 25 for an inaugural walk. There was also a trail opening reception with cake and drinks in the Student Center.
Please take advantage of walking, snowshoeing, or running on the Lynx Trail in the near future. Happy Hiking!
