Men's Basketball Team Takes Three Off the Top
The NHTI Men's Basketball team is off to an impressive start this season, with three straight wins.
Playing on its home court in the season opener on Saturday November 1, NHTI raced out to an early lead to defeat Northern Essex CC 105-79. Nashua’s Yordy Tavarez scored 22 points, and Manchester’s Richard Shout added 15 points. Chipping in for the Lynx was Jordan Lates (Nashua) with 13 points, and 6’5 center Ethan Rutldege (Curacao) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the win.
On Tuesday November 4, the team defeated Quinsigumund CC 81-70 on the road in Worcester, MA, to improve to 2-0 on the season. The Lynx trailed at halftime by 6, but a strong second half led by Rutledge with 27 points and 11 rebounds, along with Tavarez with 18 points and 5 assists led the Lynx in the victory.
The very next day NHTI improved to 3-0 on the young season with a 102-75 win on the road over Hampshire College. Lates led the way with 28 points, and Mustapha Koroma (Lowell) added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the win.
