Mum's the Word for XC Team
The Cross Country team brought their mums to practice last Friday. No, not their mothers.
Members of the NHTI Men's and Women's Cross Country teams with their mums.
After practicing hard all week, Friday was bring a Mum to Practice Day. Team members bought trays of mums and, after a quick run (because this is cross country after all), the team planted mums all along NHTI's Seekamp Trail.
The flowers look beautiful. You will be able to see these mums for yourself if you do the Fitness Walk at the Friendly Kitchen Race on September 11. And yes, since it is a walk and not a race, you will be allowed to stop and smell the flowers.
Contact Perry Seagroves, firstname.lastname@example.org, for more details about the race, the walk, smelling the flowers, and oh yes, if you're interested in joining the men's or women's Cross Country team.
The NHTI Lynx Athletics Department hired Mel Margeson (left) this summer to head up the woman’s volleyball program. Coach Margeson was awarded the NHIAA 2015 Division I Coach of the Year for her efforts. Mel is also an active coach in the Concord Area Volleyball program.
“I am happy to have a talented young coach like Melanie on our staff,” NHTI athletic director Paul Hogan said. “Her dedication and passion for coaching will be a plus for NHTI athletics.”
Coach Margeson will be partnered with first year assistant coach Jill Ciampa (left). Jill is a graduate of Pelham High School where she played volleyball all four years. The pair takes over a Lynx team that went 15-12 last season, and 3-4 in Yankee Small College Conference play.
