Softball Team Sweeps Central Maine, Heads for Playoffs

NHTI women’s softball dominated both ends of a doubleheader on Sunday April 26, defeating Central Maine CC 8-0 and 10-1 to cap their undefeated spring season.

Masha LangeIn game number one, Masha Lange (Plaistow, left) hit a grand slam home run to spark a rally helping the Lynx to the win.  Teammate Kate Andritz (Groveton) connected on a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning to seal the shutout win for the Lynx.  Tori Lemay (Manchester) struck out 12 batters earning the win for NHTI.

Lindsey HampsonCourtney Gilman (Penacook), Andritz, and Joardyn Douillette (Penacook) all doubled in runs to help the Lynx defeat the Mustangs in the nightcap 10-1.  Lindsey Hampson (Manchester, right) earned the win on the mound.

NHTI is now 20-2 overall and currently ranked number five in the latest USCAA coach’s poll as they head into this weekend's YSCC playoffs at NHTI.
