Runners Brave Snow and Mud in Gilmanton
Saturday March 28 was the start of the 10th Annual CARS (Concord Area Race Series) road races. The first race, the Gilmanton 5K, is known for its long and steep hill which is partly on a dirt road. This being 2015, it was snowy at race time and the hill was nice and muddy, making for slow conditions for the 285 runners who completed the race.
Fourteen runners participated from NHTI. Greg Keilig was 9th at 19:20. Cody Roberge was just behind him finishing 10th at 19:22. Other NHTI runners were: Derek Burton (14th at 20:06), Tim Kneuer (24th at 20:50), Oscar Castillo (29th at 21:12), Mitchell Deneault (31st at 22:10), Perry Seagroves (39th at 23:20), Tom Walton (45th at 23:37), Josh Euler (65th at 25:40), Amanda Millette (16th woman at 26:18), Brindi Schroeder (22nd woman at 27:03), Claire Bilik (33rd woman at 28:42), Professor Mike Moffett (145th at 30:23), and Julia Glisson (73rd woman at 33:41).
The third CARS race will be held at NHTI on April 17. The pre-registration cost for students is $5, including food and drink. Contact Perry Seagroves, firstname.lastname@example.org, for information about the race or training for the race. Next year you could be running through the snow and mud at Gilmanton!
