Running the Hampton Half
Five members of the NHTI Running Club participated in the 'Half at Hampton' Half Marathon on February 23. Over a thousand runners completed the race.
Nacho Hernando, running his first half marathon, finished in second place with a time of 1:14:09. (this is a 5:40 pace for 13.1 miles). Quinn Parker was 29th at 1:23:51. Coach Perry Seagroves was 65th and first in his age group at 1:31:14. Greg Keilig was 142th at 1:37:45. Coach Tom Walton was 143rd and first in his age group at 1:37:46.
Coach Seagroves was able to break the race record for the 60-69 age group that Coach Walton had set in 2010. Coach Walton was very gracious about having his record broken, but since he was the driver for the van it did take Coach Seagroves a long time to walk home from Hampton.
If you would like to run in the 2015 Half at Hampton race, start running with the NHTI Running Club. We guarantee that you will not have to walk home form the race no matter how fast you run. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
At the starting line of the 'Half at Hampton' Half Marathon, Nacho Hernando (at center in red, black and white) chats with Garry Cuneo of Groveland, MA, who woud be first across the finish line.
