Basketball Teams Split vs VTC; Fall to Dean, St. Joe's
On Thursday January 23, NHTI's basketball teams split against Vermont Tech. The women’s basketball team dropped to Vermont Tech in OT by the score of 84-80. The leaders for the Lynx were Sara Romano (Lebanon) with 21 points, eight steals and four assists, Allura LeBlanc (Northwood) with 18 points, 11 boards and six steals, Thalia Garcia (Nashua) with 16 points, and Danielle Kimball (Derry) with 11 points.
Coach Paul Hogan’s men’s basketball team defeated Vermont Tech 87-79. Pacing the Lynx were Sheveran Hardy (New Britain, CT) with 22 points, Demetrious Rouse (Detroit, MI) with 14 points, and Dorea Wilson (Detroit, MI) with 12 points.
The following Saturday the women’s team fell to Dean College 74-70. The leaders for the Lynx were Danielle Kimball (Derry) with 21 points, LeBlanc with 19 points and nine boards, and Romano with 16 points.
The men’s team also fell to Dean College 80-71. The top performers for the Lynx were Rouse with 19 points, Curtis Williams (Newmarket) with 16 points, and Ethan Rutledge (Curacao) with 13 points.
On Wednesday January 29 the women’s basketball team was defeated by College of St. Joe’s (VT) 81-62. The leaders for the Lynx were LeBlanc with 21 points and Kimball with 23 points. The Lynx are now 10-12 overall.
The men also fell to St. Joe’s 96-76. Pacing the Lynx were Hardy with 23 points, Rouse with 14 points, Brandon Bentley (Detroit, MI) with 12 points, and Jordon Richard (Raymond) with 11 points. The men’s team is now 12-10
