Adjunct Professor

Karen (Karina) L. Reno graduated from NHTI with her Associates Degree in Architectural Engineering Technology and then went on to earn a First Professional Degree in Architecture from the Boston Architectural Center.  As a practicing design professional, she has worked on a wide variety of project types and has a very diverse portfolio; demonstrating experience and expertise in commercial, residential and community design.  She was a key member of the design team responsible for the NHTI Student Center circa 2005, a project that received the AIANH People’s Choice Award.

Currently she sits at the helm of Schatelier Architectural Studio, after having served four distinctly different firms over a span of 26 years.  She practices with an internal compass actively influenced by many; drawing from ancient Vitruvian principles, modern traditions of the Bauhaus School, inventive design inspired by nature as mastered by Frank Lloyd Wright and Christopher Alexander’s human-centered design theories.

In 2017 Karina began developing a specialized area of practice with the help of the NH Enterprise Center and has presented on that topic at an international academic conference in western Ireland.

As an engaged professional and mentor Karen serves on many boards; the NHTI ARET Advisory Board, the BAC Alumni Board 2005-2011, the PLAN NH Fellowship Committee, the Town of Barnstead Planning Board and the Hampstead Stage Company Board of Directors.
