Manufacturing Technology Education Center

NHTI’s Manufacturing Technology Education Center (MTEC) helps provide connections between K-12 students, our educational partners, local industry, and our community college students. This supports and sustains N.H.’s advanced manufacturing industry through career exploration, college education, non- credit training, apprenticeships, internships and employment.

We work closely with the advanced manufacturing industry to ensure our curriculum addresses workforce development needs and our labs reflect real-life working environments. By developing a membership network of industry members, our students get opportunities to meet future employers, and employers can assess their future employees!

By creating defined pathways that promote and support manufacturing, we guide you through career exploration, credentialing, and education, as well as training manufacturing employees who need to up-skill in rapidly changing technologies. MTEC also celebrates and advocates for the industry through career awareness summer camps, supporting Manufacturing Day, and hosting career fairs.

We bring together the following groups to ensure our program has the fully, well-rounded curriculum needed to foster, start, and advance careers in manufacturing technology:

• K-12 Connections: Our relationships with high schools and career and technical education centers are the initiation point where students begin to gain interest in the field.
• Two-Year College Education: We provide two years of education that allow students to be competitive for advanced manufacturing employment in automation, manufacturing, and mechanical engineering.
• Industry Partners: Manufacturers not only employ our students once they graduate, but they offer opportunities for students to tour their facilities, provide for job shadowing and internships, and participate in project-based learning to help build our students’ portfolios. 
• Industry Employees: With a movement towards increased automation, manufacturers need to up-skill current employees on emerging technologies. MTEC provides this assistance to manufacturers through both credit and non-credit professional development classes.
