Your first ID will be covered by the cost of your comprehensive fee. There are several ways to obtain your card that are explained below.
Your Student ID serves many purposes both on and off campus such as checking out books from the NHTI Library, access to the Wellness Center and use of equipment in the Student Center, accessing flex dollars for the Capitol Commons/Bistro, attending school events such as dances and comedy shows and providing discounts at local businesses.
How to Obtain your Student ID:
- Orientation – Orientation is the first time that you will be able to obtain your Student ID. Upon arriving at Orientation you will be given a schedule that will allow you time to have your Student ID picture taken. Student ID’s are taken in Sweeney Hall during orientation. You will then be able to pick up your Student ID.
- Campus Safety Office – If you are unable to get your Student ID picture taken on your orientation date, Student ID’s are able to be processed at the Campus Safety Office located at 1 Institute Drive on the second floor of the Business/Campus Safety building or during scheduled office hours at Sweeney Hall room 214. Hours will be posted on the door of Sweeney 214.
- Evening Students – Evening students can acquire a student ID by calling Campus Safety at 224-3287. An Officer will meet you at the Campus Safety office and process your ID. During the first week of each semester, an Officer will be located in Sweeney, room 214 during the hours of 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm to process ID’s.

A new validation sticker is issued each semester to reflect that you are currently registered for classes and that you have made arrangements to pay all tuition and fees.
