Courses under this heading will offer students an advanced, focused examination of the art, history and theory of a body of narrative films, which may be related by genre, filmmaker, country, style, movement, theme and/or culture and ideology. Through viewing, lectures and class discussion, students are expected to develop a greater understanding of film theory, criticism and history. Note: this course may be repeated for credit as topics change, providing student earned a grade of “C” or better.(Prerequisite: successful completion of both ENGL 101C, or equivalent, or permission of the Department Chair of English; an introductory level literature course is highly recommended.)
