Explores American musical theater. Students will study the work of the actor/singer/dancer and use their gained knowledge to develop as performers and intelligent audience members. Students will prepare and present as soloists as well as members of small groups and larger ensemble. Students will not only sing but will choreograph and block movement appropriate for each piece. Since this is a workshop course, students will prepare material for class presentation and critique. There will also be a focus on the audition process, as well as musical theater history and repertoire. The class will participate in a culminating showcase performance to which the NHTI and extended community will be invited. THTR 101C strongly recommended. A $25 specialty course fee will be assessed for all students.
