A general engineering study of the hybrid vehicle design and its impact on the environment and industry. Engineering principles such as vehicle dynamics, energy conversion, energy storage, lightweight and composite materials, power transmission, basic electronics, and thermal management will be applied to a hybrid vehicle. Topics will include alternate fuels, emissions, power sources, and safety issues. (Prerequisites: MCET 101C, MATH 140C and PHYS 133C; or permission of department chair of Mechanical Engineering Technology.)
