Fred King spent twenty-six years in divisons of Fortune 100 companies equally dvidies between leading business units and measuring human resource departments. Fred's career began on the factory floor in industrial engineering, factory scheduling, and managing production departments abd went on to include executive level positions in retail service and wholesale distribution. After "dropping out" of the corporate world, Fred came to NHTI, Concord's Community College, as a professor in the Business Department where his course portfolio includes introduction to Business, Principles of Sales and Small Business Management. Fred also serves as the College's liasion to their Business Training Centere where he develops and presents programs in Management, Selling, Customer Services, and Human Resources.
This three hour workshop reviews the role of the Human Resource department as a partner in managing the organization --collaborating with line management in recruiting, training and evaluation. It provides a basic working overview of employment law and employer liabilities. Topics include policy strategy and application related to worker's compensation, documentation and discipline, and harassment as well as evolving issues such as balancing employer's right to know with employee privacy. This workshop is designed as a solid overview for Human Resource professionals as well as being informative for everyone involved in managing people in the enterprise.
