– Cynthia Bjerklie

Cynthia Bjerklie has been working in health care since 1975.  She has held a variety of clinical and administrative positions including work as a nurse’s aide, a medical assistant, medical office manager, practice manager, and director of operations for a multi-specialty clinic in California.  Ms. Bjerklie has been teaching medical assisting, medical transcription and professional medical coding since the early 1990’s.

This course will prepare learners for entry level employment in the health care field as receptionists, schedulers and/or secretaries in doctors’ offices, clinics, and/or other health care facilities.   Learners will be exposed to the many facets of medical office administration, including reception, scheduling appointments, writing and processing correspondence, legal and ethical concerns in health care, patient services, and telephone and interpersonal communication. An on-line learning system will be used for part of the course work; therefore basic computer skills, a personal email address and Internet access are required.

“I attended NHTI to get a Certificate in Medical Adminstrative Assistant.  The class was very helpful and I learned a lot! The teacher was awesome and taught very well.

If I ever want to further my education I will come back to NHTI!”
