Better Choices Better Health Leader Training

Interested in becoming a BCBH Leader?

The Better Choices Better Health (BCBH) Program, is an evidence-based Chronic Disease Self-Management program developed by the School of Medicine at Stanford University. Interested individuals become trained as “Leaders” of the BCBH program through participation and committing themselves to teaching BCBH a minimum of one time per year.

This training is for you if you are interested in providing the BCBH program to members of your community with chronic conditions to help them increase their ability to manage their conditions on their own. This training will prepare you to hold this 6-week workshop. The sessions run for 2 ½ hours each week in community settings, senior centers, and physicians’ offices and are facilitated by two trained Leaders. It is recommended that BCBH Leaders be individuals living with a chronic condition or a caregiver for someone with a chronic condition.
