On-line lectures and learning activities are coordinated with laboratory practice to develop dental radiographic techniques. Students are required to schedule two clients. Techniques covered include: digital radiography, processing, mounting and evaluating films. Emphasis placed on client and operator protection, exposure and processing errors, asepsis protocol, radiographic techniques and equipment function. Following completion of the course, you must pass the DANB~Radiation Health and Safety exam before you are eligible to expose radiographs in your office. This requirement is according to the NH State Board of Dental Examiners Rules and Regulations.NOTE: This course does not meet the radiology course requirements for the NHTI Dental Assisting or Dental Hygiene programs.

Online portion: *April 29 - June 21, 2024

*Students are responsible for online coursework the week of April 29 and need to have it completed each week.  Be sure to log in on the first day to begin the class.

Clinical portion (NHTI CAMPUS) from 9:00am - 5:00pm

Required PPE:  Students need to bring surgical masks, gloves, N95 for patient care and working on each other, face shield, safety glasses scrubs, and lab coat.

PLEASE NOTE: You will NOT be officially registered and a seat will not be reserved for you until ALL necessary paperwork as well as payment is submitted.

Due to the intensity and stringent NH Board of Dental Examiners rules regarding this course, it is imperative that all course requirements and commitments are met to ensure successful completion of this class.  No extensions can be given, coursework through CANVAS must be completed on time, and all in-person clinical sessions must be completed at the time they are offered in order to meet State requirements and receive a certificate.  Any variation from expectations will result in a “did not complete” grade. Please make sure you log in to CANVAS on the start date of class.
