NHTI Childhood Education program receives first-ever National Accreditation through NAEYC

CONCORD - The National Association for the Education of Young Children’s (NAEYC) Commission on the Accreditation of Early Childhood Higher Education Programs announced that NHTI was granted first-time accreditation of its Associate of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education. To earn and retain accreditation, programs must demonstrate a number of rigorous standards including curriculum development and field experiences for students.

2nd Annual Mindfulness in Society Conference

Friday, September 13th, 1 pm – 7 pm
Saturday, September 14th, 8 am – 4 pm

CONCORD — NHTI—Concord’s Community College, will host a two-day conference on “Mindfulness in Society” on September 13th and 14th, 2019. Internationally recognized experts in the field of mindfulness—Congressman Tim Ryan (D-OH), Judson Brewer, and Rhonda Magee—will speak on Friday afternoon and participate in a reception that evening. On Saturday, over 20 local presenters will conduct workshops around the themes of mindfulness in education, business, health care, and society.

NHTI Receives Successful Compliance Review of Veterans Educational Benefit Program

CONCORD, N.H. –  Recently, NHTI―Concord’s Community College underwent an extensive compliance audit which reviewed the administration of military educational benefits to qualifying students from Spring 2015 through Spring 2019. NHTI served between 160-230 qualifying students per semester. Out of those between 91-147 were using Veterans educational benefits. The audit revealed no compliance issues.

NHTI's Teacher Education Conversion Program Adds Computer Science Certification

CONCORD, N.H. –  To address the critical need for Computer Science teachers in the workforce, NHTI has developed a NH State Board of Education certified Teacher Certification Program in Computer Science. This post-baccalaureate program is designed for people who have completed a bachelor’s degree and would like to become a teacher or obtain an additional teacher certification in this field. Affordable and flexible programming options including evening, online, and summer courses allow for work, school, life balance.

Weijer Is Named NHTI Women’s Volleyball Coach

CONCORD, N.H. – The NHTI Athletic Department has named Katie Urbanski Weijer as the new head coach for the Lynx Volleyball program. Weijer officially takes over as the head coach for the highly successful Lynx program, succeeding Mel Margeson Gerrior. Weijer is a graduate of Fordham University with a Master’s Degree in Social Work, and an undergraduate degree from Siena College with a BS in Social Work.

PTK Spring Induction Ceremony

CONCORD — NHTI - Concord's Community College’s Alpha Upsilon Omicron chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society (PTK) hosted an induction ceremony on the evening of May 9th, in the Concord Orthopaedics Auditorium in Grappone Hall. The chapter celebrates its thirteenth year at NHTI.

Interim President Dr. Cathryn Addy welcomed eight new members and acknowledged their accomplishment.

NHTI Launches Three New Certificates in Human Services and Addiction Counseling

Concord, NH – NHTI, Concord’s Community College has launched three new certificate programs that provide key skills for those interested in pursuing careers in human services or addiction counseling. The Human Services Certificate, Advanced Human Services Certificate and the Substance Use Disorder Treatment (SUD Tx) Certificate each consist of six courses and 19 credits which students can complete in two semesters. Students can apply now for the fall semester.
