Kepro SAP – Your Free Counseling Option
We all experience situations that affect our wellbeing. NHTI offers you access to Kepro SAP, free confidential student counseling services by licensed mental health professionals in the local area and other supports 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. You get up to 6 counseling sessions per incident per year at no cost.
Services
Kepro SAP provides the following free services to all students:
Confidential Counseling and Support
Any time of the day or night, weekends, and holidays, you will be able to reach a Student Assistance Program professional who will provide a plan of assistance, which includes problem assessment, education, information, and assistance with initial crisis management. SAP offers counseling sessions with licensed mental health professionals in your local area.
All discussions between you and your SAP professional are confidential.
Online and Mobile Access to Resources and Referrals
The SAP website and mobile app allows you to connect to a robust offering of childcare, eldercare, and daily living resources in addition to other useful information and self-assessment tools.
Legal and Financial Consultations
You can schedule a free, first-time consultation (up to 30 minutes) with an attorney or financial consultant on a variety of legal and money management concerns.

Kepro was founded in 1985 as a national specialty health care company committed to providing services to enhance emotional and physical health and wellness. Kepro and its legacy companies have been providing Employee and Student Assistance Program services for over 30 years. Currently delivering SAP/EAP services to 200+ organizations and cover approximately 1M lives across the U.S., Puerto Rico, and internationally.
NHTI students are provided with up to 6 counseling sessions per incident per year at no cost to the student. Kepro SAP consultants are master’s level counselors with 14+ years of industry experience and 10+ years with Kepro on average. Counselors have the specialized training and skills necessary to fully support each caller in the moment.
Kepro delivers counseling sessions in various formats. Appointments can be scheduled in-person or through telehealth (video) sessions. Telephonic counseling may be provided to help stabilize a situation or to help fill a need but will not be considered one of the 6 sessions offered unless specifically requested by the student.
Participants for which in-person counseling is requested or recommended, Kepro matches the caller with a local counselor (affiliate) based on factors such as proximity, gender, language, ethnicity, and any other preferences.
If additional counseling, beyond the 6 sessions is required, Kepro will assist students in arranging for further treatment at the student’s expense. Whenever possible, Kepro will refer student to a provider within the student’s health care network.

Kepro SAP offers online content on parenting, aging, mental health, wellness, working, living, and international with 60+ content modules. Modules include streaming audio and video files covering a range of health and emotional health topics, monthly online seminars, and over 8,000 regularly updated articles.
The online site also provides 8 interactive self-search locators for providers, childcare, elder care, adoption, education, pet sitting, volunteer opportunities, and certified financial planners, up-to-date provider directory, 40 financial calculators and planning tools, and other resources.
Kepro SAP offers monthly online seminars each with archiving of past seminars. Online seminars are an interactive learning experience you can join live or view on demand archives at your convenience. Topics include parenting, aging, mental health, addiction and recovery, wellness, working, living, and much more.
