NHTI Soccer Has Five Athletes Named to YSCC All-Conference Team (10/26/2019)

Concord, NH – NHTI Soccer was well represented in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) Soccer Awards as the Lynx had five athletes named to the YSCC All-Conference Team and also had an athlete win both YSCC Player of the Year Awards. For Women’s Soccer Kaylyn Storozuk (Newbury, NH) and Maura Hart (Fitzwilliam, NH) were named to the All-Conference Team. Hart was also recognized as the YSCC Player of the Year for the third-straight year leading the YSCC in goals, assists and points in the regular season. For Men’s Soccer Kolbe Maganzini (Wolfeboro, NH), Andrew Haggett (Concord, NH) and Fiston Kapongo (Dover, NH) were named to the YSCC All-Conference Team. Kapongo was also recognized as the YSCC Player of the Year as he led the YSCC in goals this season.

NHTI Men’s Soccer Falls to Central Maine CC 3-0 in YSCC Final Four (10/26)

Concord, NH – The NHTI Men’s Soccer team lost to Central Maine CC in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) Final Four on Saturday by a final of 3-0. Garrett Addison (Leeds, ME) scored twice for the Mustangs while Peter Vigna (Naples, ME) tallied the other goal. In net for NHTI Kolbe Maganzini (Wolfeboro, NH) stopped six shots. For Central Maine CC Austin Wing (Lewiston, ME) stopped nine shots in the shutout win. The Mustangs outshot the Lynx 19-13 in the contest.

NHTI Soccer In YSCC Final Fours on Saturday (10/25)


Concord, NH – The NHTI Soccer teams will each be in action over the weekend with the chance of winning the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) Championships. The Men’s team will play Central Maine CC at 1:15 pm.          

Men’s Preview: Under first year head coach Ray Juneau the Lynx finished off the regular season with a record of 8-4-1 and a 5-1-1 record in the YSCC Conference good for the number two seed in the playoffs. NHTI ranks second in goals (35), assists (22), save percentage (.856) and ranks third in shots (166). Individually Fiston Kapongo (Dover, NH) leads the YSCC in goals (15) while ranking second in points (30). Tiegan Fredrich (Andover, NH) ranks sixth in goals (5) and seventh in points (11). Andrew Haggett (Concord, NH) ranks third in assists (5). In goal Kolbe Maganzini (Wolfeboro, NH) ranks second in save percentage (.856) and in saves (101).

NHTI Men’s Soccer Defeats Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences 4-3 in Regular Season Finale (10/19)

Concord, NH. – The NHTI Men’s Soccer team ended their regular season with a win on Saturday as the Lynx defeated Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences 4-3. Fiston Kapongo (Dover, NH) scored twice for NHTI brining his season total to 16 goals. Richard Medina (Manchester, NH) and Christian Palmer (Raymond, NH) added the other scores. In net Kolbe Maganzini (Wolfeboro, NH) stopped 24 shots for the Lynx in the win.


NHTI Men’s Soccer Secures #2 Seed for YSCC Playoffs, Drops Contest to Northern Essex CC 2-1 (10/16)

Haverhill, Mass. – The NHTI Men’s Soccer team fell to Northern Essex CC 2-1 on Tuesday. The Lynx ended the night with a positive note as they secured the #2 seed for the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) Playoffs by a goal differential tie-breaker over Central Maine CC. In the contest against Northern Essex NHTI tallied one score on a penalty kick in the 88th minute scored by Christian Palmer (Raymond, NH). Kolbe Maganzini (Wolfeboro, NH) stopped 14 shots in the loss. The Lynx will next play their regular season finale against Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Science on Saturday at 1pm before getting ready for a game in the YSCC Final Four on October 26th.

NHTI Men’s Soccer Come Up Short Versus Five Towns College 3-1 (10/08)

Concord, NH – The NHTI Men’s Soccer team fought hard in a physical contest, however the Lynx fell to Five Towns College 3-1. After falling behind in the 24th minute, Hunter Hart (Allenstown, NH) sent a ball off the crossbar and teammate Teigan Friedrich (Andover, NH) settled and fired the ball into the back of the net. Five Towns answered quick and then added another late in the game to hold the 3-1 win. Kolbe Maganzini (Wolfeboro, NH) had a spectacular day in net stopping 24 shots. NHTI plays next at Northern Essex CC next Tuesday.

NHTI Men’s Soccer Blows By Hampshire College 2-0 (10/04)

Concord, NH – It was a very windy afternoon game on Thursday as the NHTI Men’s Soccer team defeated Hampshire College 2-0. The reigning YSCC player of the week Fiston Kapongo (Dover, NH) added both scores for the Lynx. Hunter Hart (Allenstown, NH) registered an assist. In net Kolbe Maganzini (Wolfeboro, NH) picked up the win starting the game. Joey Leining (Charlestown, NH) came in for the second half stopping one shot. NHTI will play again next Tuesday against Five Towns College.

NHTI Men’s Soccer Defeats Vermont Tech 4-2 on Wednesday (10/02)

Randolph Center, Vt. – The NHTI Men’s Soccer team picked up their second-straight road victory on Wednesday as they defeated Vermont Tech 4-2. Christian Palmer (Raymond, NH) led the Lynx with a pair of goals as well as an assist. Andre Sturgeon (Moultonborough, NH) and Francois Luambua (Portsmouth, NH) each tallied scores of their own in the win. In net Kolbe Maganzini (Wolfeboro, NH) picked up the win stopping four shots. NHTI prepares next for Hampshire College who they play at home on Friday.

NHTI Men’s Soccer Defeats Paul Smith’s College 5-0 (09/29)

Concord, NH – Fiston Kapongo (Dover, NH) scored four goals to lead the NHTI Men’s Soccer team over Paul Smith’s College 5-0 on Saturday. Kapongo with now 10 goals on the season would score in the 19th, 34th, 47th, and 48th minute for the Lynx. Teigan Friedrich (Andover, NH) tallied another score late in the 71st minute. In net Kolbe Maganzini (Wolfeboro, NH) made 12 saves for NHTI picking up the shutout victory.

NHTI Men’s Soccer ranks #11 in the USCAA Fall Coaches Week 1 Poll (09/26)

Concord, NH – On Wednesday the Unites States Collegiate Athletic Association soccer and volleyball fall coaches week 1 poll was released and the NHTI Men’s Soccer team was ranked eleventh.

The NHTI Men’s Soccer team has a record of 4-1-1 this season under first year head coach Ray Juneau. The Lynx are ranked eleventh in goals scored this season and thirteenth in assists in the USCAA this year.

For individual statistics in the USCAA, Fiston Kapongo (Dover, NH) ranks ninth in goals (6) and fifteenth in points (13). Andrew Haggett (Concord, NH) ranks thirteenth in assists (3). In net Gavin Ferry (Manchester, NH) ranks thirteenth in save percentage while Kolbe Maganzini (Wolfeboro, NH) ranks sixteenth in the same category.

NHTI Men’s Soccer Ties with Central Maine CC 2-2 (09/21)

Concord, NH – An 87th minute heartbreaker brought the NHTI Men’s Soccer team to a tie against Central Maine CC on Saturday. The Lynx outshot the Mustangs 21-15 and also had more corner kicks 3-2. Teigan Friedrich (Andover, NH) led NHTI with both goals in the first five minutes of the contest. Hunter Hart (Allenstown, NH) added an assist for the Lynx. In net Kolbe Maganzini (Wolfeboro, NH) had six saves out of the eight shots he saw.

NHTI Men’s Soccer Falls Against Southern Maine CC 4-0 (09/18)

Concord, NH – The NHTI Men’s Soccer team lost their first game of the season against Southern Maine CC on Wednesday. The Lynx struggled to gain quality shots only having three on net. In goal Kolbe Maganzini (Wolfeboro, NH) had two saves while giving up three scores. Joey Leining (Charlestown, NH) came in relief for the final 27 minutes stopping one shot while allowing another score.

NHTI Soccer Wins at UMaine Machias (09/15)

Machias, ME – Both NHTI soccer teams became 4-0-0 on the season as the men’s team won 4-3 and the women’s team won 3-0 on Saturday at UMaine Machias. For the men’s game the Lynx pulled off a victory on a free kick in overtime. Andrew Haggett (Concord, NH) scored the game-winner getting the ball from Angelo Papadopoulos (Belmont, NH). Fiston Kapongo (Dover, NH) added a pair of goals for NHTI in the contest. Richard Medina (Manchester, NH) tallied the final score on a penalty kick early in the first half. In net Gavin Ferry (Manchester, NH) picked up the win getting 19 saves. In the women’s game the Lynx picked up their fourth-straight shutout to start the season and have a goal differential of 21-0 over the first four games. Michaella Biron (W. Stewartstown, NH) led the team with three points on two goals and an assist. Maura Hart (Fitzwilliam, NH) scored the other goal for NHTI off a corner kick. Madison Merchant (Webster, NH) picked up her fourth shutout in the win.

NHTI Men’s Soccer Scores Big in 6-2 Win over Vermont Tech (09/11)

Concord, NH – The NHTI Men’s Soccer Team picked up their third-straight win on Wednesday with a 6-2 victory over Vermont Tech. Fiston Kapongo (Dover, N.H.) tallied two goals and an assist to lead the Lynx. Francois Luambua (Portsmouth, N.H.), Andre Sturgeon (Moultonborough, N.H.), Richard Medina (Manchester, N.H.) and Beni Mbungu (Manchester, N.H.) were the other goal scorers. In net for NHTI Kolbe Maganzini (Wolfeboro, N.H.) picked up two saves while giving up a goal. Joey Leining (Charlestown, N.H.) came in and gave up a score.

NHTI Men’s Soccer Score Four-Straight in Victory over STCC (09/07)

Concord, N.H. – NHTI Men’s Soccer came back from an early deficit to beat Springfield Technical Community College 4-1 on Saturday. After Springfield took the lead off an early score, the Lynx received a penalty kick opportunity which was scored by Richard Medina in the 27th minute to even the game. In the 48th minute Andre Sturgeon (Moultonborough, N.H.) finished home a beautiful set piece started by Medina and Angelo Papadopoulos (Belmont, N.H.). Later in the half Fiston Capongo (Dover, N.H.) scored his second goal of the year on a feed from Andrew Haggett (Concord, N.H.).  Finally Hunter Hart (Allenstown, N.H.) found Brandon Crawford (Colebrook, N.H.) for a header goal in the 69th minute to seal the victory for the Lynx. Gavin Ferry (Manchester, N.H.) made seven saves for NHTI securing his first win in net this season.

NHTI Men’s Soccer Team Wins Close Battle with Unity College 2-1 (09/01)

Concord N.H. – Head Coach Ray Juneau picked up his first win as head coach as the NHTI Men’s Soccer team defeated Unity College 2-1 on Sunday. Fiston Kapongo (Dover, N.H.) would score in the 74th minute from a pass from Brandon Crawford (Colebrook, N.H.) to break the 1-1 tie and lead the Lynx to the victory. After a scoreless first half Andre Sturgeon (Moultonborough, N.H.) scored for NHTI in the 48th minute to give the Lynx the lead. After the answer by the Rams, Kabongo found the back of the net to propel NHTI to victory. Kolbe Maganzini (Wolfboro, N.H.) made 13 saves for the Lynx in net.

NHTI 2019-2020 Men’s Soccer Season Preview

2018-2019 Record: 9-6-1

2018-2019 Conference Record: 4-2-1

Head Coach: Ray Juneau (1st Season)

Assistant Coach: Michell Indriago (1st Season)

The NHTI Men’s Soccer team will head into 2019-2020 with Ray Juneau taking over as the head coach. Coach Juneau has been with the program since 2014 and will now get to lead the Lynx into the new campaign. The 2019 season will begin on Sunday September 1st when NHTI will host Unity College at 1 pm. Last year the Lynx had a record of 9-6-1 with a 4-2-1 record in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC). NHTI won the YSCC Championship for the second-straight season and made a United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Tournament Appearance. The Lynx also had individual awards such as two members of the YSCC All-Conference team (Abdullah Juma and Blaise Masumbuko).
