Paul Hogan, Head Coach

Paul Hogan is a graduate of Plymouth State University (1979 B.S.,1988 M.Ed.) and a lifelong New Hampshire native. Dedicated to teaching and coaching his entire professional career, Paul Hogan has been recognized as one of the premier instructors of the game of basketball in the New England area. For the past 35 plus years, Coach Hogan has been directing summer basketball camps and fall/winter basketball clinics in New Hampshire to improve basketball skills, develop positive self-esteem, and to learn the necessary ingredients to be a successful member of a “team.”

In 2004-2005, the Lynx reached the “pinnacle of success,” capturing the first ever national championship in basketball in the state of NH, leading NHTI to an incredible 31-3 overall record. The Lynx defeated Golden State Baptist of Santa Clara, Ca. 72-70 in the USCAA Division II National Championship game on March 5, 2005 at NHTI. The Lynx “tradition” continues with success including many trips to the USCAA National tournament (including 2017) and YSCC tournament championships and tournament appearances. NHTI captured their third straight YSCC regular season title and second straight YSCC tournament title in the spring of 2019.

In his eight years at Plymouth State College, Paul Hogan compiled the highest winning percentage of any men’s basketball coach in the school’s history. His unique coaching style and dedication to the fundamentals of the game guided the Plymouth State Panthers to postseason play in the prestigious NCAA Tournament and numerous ECAC berths including LEC Coach of the Year in 1991 and 1998. Paul’s commitment to teaching the game of basketball to players of all ages is at the heart of the success of his basketball camps.

He is presently the Men’s Basketball Coach, Athletic Director, and a Professor in the Sports Management Program at NHTI, Concord’s Community College in Concord, New Hampshire. NHTI was the USCAA Division II National Runner-Up in 2002, finishing at 29-4 record for the season, which is an NHTI school record. Hogan was also recognized as the USCAA national coach of the year in 2002 and 2018 and YSCC Coach of the Year awards in 2010, 2013 and 2018. Hogan’s NHTI teams have become recognized as teams that will annually compete for regional and national titles while playing a strong exciting game schedule. Hogan has earned more than 500 career college basketball victories during his stellar career. 

Irvin Harris, Assistant Coach

Irvin Harris is a graduate of Cambridge College (B.A., 1992 M.Ed. Psychology) in Cambridge, M.A. and Tufts University (1990) in Medford, M.A. Currently, Harris is a candidate for his Doctorate in Educational Psychology from Argosy University in Orange, C.A. A stellar athlete, Coach Harris played football and  varsity basketball at powerhouse Omaha Central High School, N.E. (1975-77) He also played college basketball at Bellevue University, N.E.  An active coach at many levels including the New England AAU circuit and basketball camps around New England, Coach Harris is a lifelong athletic enthusiast and returns to NHTI now entering his third year as an assistant men’s basketball coach after assisting with the women’s basketball program from 2011-13. He also served at St. Anselm College as an assistant coach specializing in scouting 2013-15. Harris teaches Computer Installation, Repair and Networking Technology serving as an adjunct professor at NHTI.

Darren Johnson, Assistant Coach & B-Team Head Coach

Darren Johnson joins our NHTI men’s basketball coaching staff after many years of serving as an assistant coach for a number of NH high schools including Lebanon, Bow &  Pembroke Academy. An active participant and basketball enthusiast, Coach Johnson will join our NHTI Lynx Coaching staff assisting with team practices, organization and directing the B team.

Travis Maser, Assistant Coach

Travis Maser graduated from the University of New Hampshire (BS/Chemical Engineering 2014). Coach Maser played four years at Merrimack High School. Maser also coaches the North Andover (Mass.) Knights a summer high school team.

Simon Keeling, Assistant Coach


Simon Keeling is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University (2006 BS/Sports Management). Coach Keeling played for Coach Hogan at NHTI before transferring to J & W to continue his collegiate basketball career. After graduating from J & W, Keeling worked in the NBA Development League for the Idaho Stampede as their V.P. of Sales and Service. Keeling returns to the sidelines as a volunteer assistant coach at NHTI after a four-year hiatus. Currently Keeling is a Financial Advisor for the firm Edward Jones located here in Concord.
