1:45 – 2:30pm | “A Mindful Nation in the Making” – Congressman Tim Ryan Congressman Tim Ryan will address his personal and professional experiences with mindfulness and ways he believes its expansion can benefit society. |
2:30 – 3:15pm | “How Mindfulness Helps Us Work with Our Craving Minds” – Dr. Brewer will explain ways mindfulness meditation impacts the brain and how mindfulness can be an effective intervention for behavior change that includes reducing anxiety, modifying habits, and overcoming addiction. |
3:15 – 3:30pm | Break |
3:30 – 4:15pm | “The Inner Work of Racial Justice” – Rhonda Magee Professor Magee will draw on research, practice, and traditional teachings to explore how mindfulness and compassion practices can support us in working with ourselves and with others to address issues of race, racism, and other forms of bias as they arise in our lives and in our communities. |
4:15 – 5:15pm | Panel Discussion with Moderator Liz Kineke, Producer of CBS Religion and Culture |
5:15 – 5:30pm | Wrap-up & Thank You – Dan Huston |
