The NHTI Student Leadership Program, affectionately known as the L.E.A.P. Program, has been selected as the 2009 Program of the Year in New Hampshire by the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). This great honor is a direct reflection of the hard work of the Student Leadership Team and all of the student leaders who have given their time to make NHTI a better place. The program is now in its' fourth year of existence and continues to stay on the cutting edge of training and leadership trends.
The L.E.A.P. Program, which receives its funding from the Student Senate, is responsible for training over one hundred student leaders since its' inception in a variety of areas. These areas include, but are not limited to, public speaking, dining etiquette, resume writing, proper dress, teambuilding, conflict resolution, and financial planning. In addition to the small group training sessions the team has hosted a state-wide leadership conference, taken a group of students to a national student leadership conference annually, and continues its' relationship with the New Hampton School to provide a retreat for students and advisors every August.
The team would like to thank Steve Caccia, Vice President of Student Affairs and member of the Student Leadership Team, for nominating the program for this award.
