Microsoft Comes to NHTI

Introduction  to Windows 8 Apps Development
with Microsoft “Technology Evangelist” Jim O’Neil
February 19, 2013, Sweeney Auditorium
Doors open at 6:30 pm; Presentation at 7:00 pm

CONCORD — Ever dreamed about creating your own special App for your computer, tablet or smartphone?  Well, if you have ever used HTML to build a web site, you are well on your way to becoming an App developer for Microsoft’s new Windows 8 operating system.  And even if you have never used HTML, you too can develop Apps!

Microsoft is coming to NHTI, Concord’s Community College, to explain the philosophy behind Windows 8, which is a major change of direction for the company.  The basic idea is to make the platform much more open, so that almost anyone can develop Apps and upload them to the new Windows Store for fun or profit.

This is the kickoff session for a free Windows 8 App Development “boot camp” to be held at NHTI on Tuesday evenings during February, March and April.  For details contact Professor Terrance Simkin.

NHTI, Concord’s Community College, is a fully accredited, public community college serving students, businesses and the community by providing excellent academic, technical and professional education.  NHTI offers 65 academic programs to more than 4,500 students.  NHTI is a member of the Community College System of New Hampshire.
