Concord – As part of 2009 Engineers Week, the NHTI Architectural Engineering Technology Club (AET) and the Wings of Knowledge speaker series is offering a presentation by Vic Reno: "Energy, The Environment and Our Buildings." The seminar will review how design, construction and living in our buildings impacts energy use and the environment, and what "green" means when it comes to buildings. Topics will also include Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), and what we should be doing to minimize the negative impact of our buildings on the environment and our planet. Vic Reno, PE, IES, of Reno Engineering & Light Design is an electrical and mechanical engineer working in New Hampshire. He specializes in engineering solutions to energy and environmental problems. Mr. Reno has taught physics, math and energy courses at the college level and has written extensively on alternative energy and energy conservation. The seminar will be held on Tuesday, February 17th at 7:00 pm in the NHTI Library. The seminar is free to attend for the public. One Professional Development Hour (1.0 PDH) will be offered for attendance at this event. Launched in 2001-02, Wings of Knowledge is an annual series of cultural events sponsored by the NHTI Forum. The series supports and expands upon NHTI's wide variety of academic offerings, and is another element in the college's expanding community college mission.
