Concord – In an increasingly competitive job market, college students and working professionals are looking for an edge, a way to stand out from the crowd with the skills, knowledge, and experience today's workplace demands. NHTI's short term Travel/Study Abroad programs help students and professionals prepare by going beyond textbooks and the classroom and out into the real world.

While each program is unique and tailored to the interests of the group, one common thread is the rich learning experience each provides. The knowledge gained and shared while being immersed in a foreign country with like-minded individuals goes far beyond college credit.

One example is NHTI's 10-day trip to Costa Rica, a country renowned for its biological diversity and conservation efforts. Participants study unusual plant and animal habitats and work alongside scientific researchers while staying at Tropical Science Centers and Bio Stations in different areas of the country. This experience is topped off with a canopy zip line tour, white water rafting adventure, and a long soak in natural hot springs at the base of a live volcano. This trip also serves as the lab portion of NHTI's online Tropical Ecology and Conservation course; travelers who choose to take the course will earn four college credits.

At the other end of the global spectrum is the 15-day China trip. This interdisciplinary program has two focuses: traditional Chinese medicine and business in China. Students participate in panel discussions at Tongji University in Shanghai, and visit an off-site Chinese medical facility and a factory. Led by NHTI's spirited local guide, the group explores both old and new China while taking in Shanghai, Xian, and Beijing. In this year's program nurses can also earn contact hours from NHTI.

Whether you seek to earn credit or travel just for the experience, you will get a great return on this investment! Join us on December 3rd for NHTI's Travel/Study Abroad Information Night: Costa Rica at 5 pm and China at 6 pm.
