Concord – The Education Department at NHTI will hold an information night about its innovative Teacher Education Conversion Programs on Monday, August 8th, from 5:30 - 7:00 pm in the "Living Room" of the college library.
NHTI has developed three programs, approved by the NH State Board of Education, to help to meet the critical shortage of teachers in our state. (Note: These are not degree programs; candidates must already hold a Baccalaureate and/or Master's Degree.)
The Teacher Education Conversion Program (TECP) is designed to attract career changers into mathematics or science teaching. The General Special Education Conversion Program is designed for candidates who already hold a teaching certification and are interested in adding a general special education endorsement.
The new ESOL Conversion Program, launching this fall, is designed for candidates who already hold a teaching certification and are interested in adding ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) K-12 certification, or those without teaching certification who hold a baccalaureate degree, and are interested in ESOL as an initial certification.
For further information about these programs, and to register for the August 8th information night, contact Kelly Moore Dunn at or (603) 271-8881, or visit www.nhti.edu/tecpcareer.html.
