Concord – NHTI, Concord's Community College is offering a series of seminars this fall for Medical Imagers to provide local opportunities to earn continuing education requirements. "With ongoing technological advances, an aging population, and changing approaches to health care, the outlook for medical imaging is one of growth and opportunity," says Sandy Beliveau, coordinator of the radiologic technology program at NHTI. "But obtaining the necessary training and continuing education can be challenging. Medical facilities require cross-training of employees to curb costs, but the primary educational training facilities for these specialties are out of state, which makes them cost and time prohibitive due to the distance and out-of-state travel required." NHTI is bringing these opportunities closer to home. A special series on Mammography - consisting of 26 lectures held over four Saturdays in September and October - is being highlighted. Workshops on Computed Tomography, Cross Sectional Anatomy, Teaching Techniques, and Quality Management are also being offered, with additional classes planned for the spring.
