Concord – This past fall, NHTI, Concord's Community College, became the first school in New Hampshire to offer an on-site certificate program in the new and growing field of Legal Nurse Consulting. LNCs are professional nurses with both clinical expertise and training in the law. They provide an invaluable service to both the medical and legal professions by evaluating, analyzing and offering informed opinions on the delivery of healthcare and resulting outcomes. LNCs can serve in a variety of settings including hospitals and other health care facilities, insurance companies, law firms, medical malpractice and workers' compensation organizations, and private LNC practices.
Approved by the American Bar Association, NHTI's certificate program is designed for experienced Registered Nurses who are interested in becoming Legal Nurse Consultants. With the combined resources of the Paralegal program and the Center for Nursing Professional Development, NHTI is uniquely equipped to provide the legal knowledge and practical field experience LNCs require. Classes are held evenings and weekends, and the program can be completed in one calendar year.
This semester, NHTI will offer two Information Nights for those who would like to learn more about the LNC program - one on Tuesday, January 31st, and another on Thursday April 5th. Both events will take place from 7:00 - 8:00 pm in the Trulson Conference Room in NHTI's Grappone Hall. Register for either event online at www.nhti.edu/lncinfo.html.
