Child & Family Development Center Hosts
2nd Annual Conference

Geared Toward Parents & Early Childhood Educators

Concord – On Saturday September 26th, from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, the Child and Family Development Center (CFDC) at NHTI, Concord's Community College, is hosting its second annual conference, "Teaching, Learning and Practice with Quality and Joy." The conference is open to all staff, faculty, and community members, and is geared especially toward parents and early childhood educators.

Keynote speaker Lynn Lyons will discuss childhood anxiety. Other conference topics include: "Helping children grow into successful lifelong learners" led by Katie Lugg (preschool lead teacher) and the preschool team; "Trusting toddlers to succeed" presented by CFDC's toddler team, led by lead teacher Andrea Foster; and "Infants have so much to say when we listen," presented by our infant team, led by lead infant teacher Carrie Dupell. Additional workshops include "Teachable moments: When toddlers bite" by CFDC Director Lisa Ranfos; "Literacy begins at … birth!" with Cathleen Price; "Body rights - Keeping our children safe" with Gale Hall; and "Setting the Stage of Success" with CFDC's administrative team, Lori Warner and Lisa Ranfos.

Other presenters include Tracy Pond, Deirdre Dunn, Thomas B. Linehan, Simonne Perry, Cathie Schofield, Karen Gerdts, Diana Menard and Lisa J. Strout. Presenting CFDC staff also include Bonnie Morin and Abby Webster from the preschool classroom; Jessica Locke, Stephanie Ring and Jessica Levandowski from the toddler classroom; and Lisha Colby and Blossom Dodge from the infant classroom.
