What is Global Language Camp?
This day camp gives junior high students (ages 12-14) the opportunity to
explore a different language and culture each day. This year, we include a
“non-ethnic” culture: Deaf culture!
What Will We Do Each Day?
Monday-Thursday, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
- Practice basic phrases & counting
- Recognize some written symbols
- Learn about the culture by listening to folk stories
- Sing songs, make artifacts, and look on the web for information about different countries
- Enjoy watching cultural DVD’s
- Taste authentic ethnic food
Friday, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
- Fun language and culture projects and time for discussion and reflection
Cost & Registration
Cost: $225 per camper (includes daily authentic lunch from each cuisine)
